Meet Antonia Martin Our Entrepreneur of the Month
When I started on this journey 3 years ago I never thought I would be where I am today. After experiencing so much during my first few years of college I didn’t think I would be doing anything related to writing. It wasn’t until I met a blogger by the name of Jasmine that I was actually encouraged to try the whole blogging thing. Now I get paid to do just that, Blog! Saint Glow Blog is about my life and style. In my life pieces, I talk about my spiritual journey, my love life, and my work as a student, blogger, model and photographer. In my style post I post about beauty and fashion for women of all sizes. Being able to combine my passions to change the world was my goal and I feel as though I am crossing over, it’s a great feeling.
I couldn’t believe it all started when I decided to create a Instagram gallery where I could post reviews of makeup and post cute outfits. For a while it was named Simply Incredible but after an interesting St. Patrick’s Day post I found I changed the name to @stglowblog, created some solid branding materials and a couple months later I had 3,000 followers. Set on a goal to have 10,000 followers at the close of 2016 I moved forward with my mission, not knowing what God had in store for me.
After an enlightening interaction with a modeling coach I decided to get serious about my spirit. Grounding myself in church and reading the word. I figured I couldn’t speak the word and not be rooted in it. Moving forward I didn’t think a small Instagram blog based on fashion and Christian faith would take me so far. Getting VIP seats at KCFW, attending free advanced screenings for movies and even networking with boutique owners like Dorthea of DJ Shoes.
Beyond the events, free items and doing what I love I get to encourage a whole lot of people and I think that’s the best part. I plan to keep going with Saint Glow blog, the impact is great and in times like these I think our people could use some encouragement. Turning my passion into brand power just so happened to be an accident but the work was intentional. Getting any dream or passion off the ground has to be active, intentional, never ending and progressive to make your goals a reality. Do things fervently and grounded and truth and you will be surprised what God can do.
Peace & Blessings
